They have released several of their best-selling titles in the last year, and show signs of a resurgence. However, the one thing that has set the Wii U apart from all competition is their ability to play catch up. (Left) Wii-U white "basic", (Right) Wii-U black "deluxe". With a lack of exciting titles at the launch and stiff competition from Microsoft and Playstation, the Wii U faced problems so dismal that some stores would not even stock the system or games. Yet, all of these features did not help the Wii U get off to a fast start. Like its predecessors, the Wii U is completely backwards compatible and features online capabilities. The Wii board and nunchucks have also made a return for the Wii U. Nintendo’s obsession with providing oddly-functional controllers has continued as well, with a controller that has a touch screen that interacts with most games. This is the first Nintendo system that can boast high definition graphics, making every game look sharper and better defined. The Wii U went in a completely different direction than its predecessor in terms of graphics and controllers. Right now, its biggest competition are systems such as the Xbox One and Playstation 4 which have better graphics, but lack the deeply-embedded Nintendo game franchises.

It is Nintendo’s flagship into the eighth generation consoles and has been met, so far, with a fair amount of positivity. The Nintendo Wii U is the latest video game console to be released by the Nintendo Company. Main role - The classic platform/adventure style Mario games such as Super Mario Bros and Super Mario Land would be good examples of what we define as main role Mario games. Spin off - a game which features Mario throughout, but is not a mainstream adventure game. We feature games with three different types of Mario appearance as follows:-Ĭameo - a non-Mario game with reference to, or an appearance of Mario or one of the characters Visit a games page by clicking its box image below. or I could instead spend that money on Smash Bros, Bayonetta 2, Captain Toad, Far Cry 4, Dragon Age, GTAV or even just spend it on Amiibos or something else entirely.Below are the Mario games on the Nintendo Wii U that we cover at. It was also at a point where my trust of Ubisoft was still relatively high because it was in that just-post AC4 period.īut now? It's not a new game, the hype has died down, I can get it elsewhere cheaper, Ubisoft have given me plenty of reasons why I shouldn't give them money AND I have plenty of other games to pick from.

WII U ROMS WITH ID PC
It would have also been one of the better versions of the game for me to get given that the PC version had its issues, I don't have a PS4/XBOne and the GamePad could have added something.

Mostly because it would have been a new game at a time when there weren't many games to play on the system. I probably would have gotten it on the Wii U if it had launched alongside the other versions. I can't fathom any benevolent reason for intentionally publishing a game in such a way to sell as few copies as possible, so yeah, I think Ubisoft is a bad publisher. It boggles my mind why 3rd parties keep doing this, intentionally positioning Wii U ports in a way that they're as unappealing as they could possibly be.
WII U ROMS WITH ID SOFTWARE
It could have shipped during the massive software drought from June-August. It never had to have all of these disadvantages. It's likely not getting post-launch support. The timing was intentional, and it is therefore intentionally being sent out to die.īut why? This was never going to sell well obviously, but it could have sold better than it will now. It's not like they didn't know it was coming out.

It's even more bizarre when you think about why Ubisoft would position this against Smash. There's no logical explanation for Ubisoft taking 6 months to put a map on a Gamepad. You want Watch Dogs for Wii U, even after delayĮdited on Tue 18th November, 2014 09:50 by SCRAPPER392 You own another console and want GamePad support, but are disappointed by the price after delayĤ. If you think it stinks in principal, then that would be ignoring that the GamePad is a thing that some people want, and they actually spent any given amount of time to make sure that is a feature OR Ubisoft is a s***y publisher, so we shouldn't care about the game on any platform.ģ. The entire point is the GamePad is the main selling point, so even if you have the other consoles, the reason for buying the Wii U version would ultimately be the GamePad. Well, even if the Wii U version was delayed, it's still probably better than the Xbox 360/PS3 version, even without DLC. Or a Wii U, because this is terrible publishing and it stinks on principle. The only way you can complain about the price or delay is if you also have an Xbox One and PS4.
